The Clear-Minded Chronicles Micro-Podcast #2: Ups and Downs

A very personal podcast today, about my tendency to fluctuate between hyper-enthusiastic phases and times when I just want to retreat into my shell, and how that hasn’t helped when it comes to establishing a regular creative practice.

Note:

I’m still not sure how best to share these with you – at the moment each post is going out to email subscribers who’ve ticked the ‘every post’ option, but you can also follow via SoundCloud or Tumblr.

I could potentially just keep it to those channels and social media, which would mean I’d be adding to your inbox less often -let me know in the comments if you have a preference. (I may also consider iTunes later if I decide to continue these beyond May).

Just wanted to say I really like the micro-podcasts. To me they feel like the very best thing you’ve done on the Clear-Minded Creative. They are short and direct but most importantly super-honest. I can believe you when you say they feel “raw” to do, but the result is so much stronger. Thanks for doing this. Hope you’ll be doing them for quite a while 🙂

Thanks for letting me know Gilliom, that is great to hear. I don’t know if every day will have the same level of depth to it, but I’ll do my best to keep it as honest and real as I can 🙂

Thank you, Milo, this podcast certainly strikes many chords with me! I also appreciate the fact you have taken the pretty scary step to be very honest about the forces at play when you are going through the creative process. Maybe honesty is the way forward to stopping those forces feeling destructive. After all, formulating an idea to the extent that you can communicate it to others is surely the point of all meaningful art. I’m probably babbling because I’m still processing what you said.
Regarding notifications, I quite like to get an email prompt, as I don’t always manage to keep up with all the social media.
Keep up the good work, and I hope you find making the podcasts beneficial 🙂

Hi Vicky thanks very much for listening and commenting! I’m a big believer in ‘awareness’ being useful in and of itself, so hopefully by exploring some of these ideas/barriers to creativity will help (both me and whoever chooses to listen!)

Thanks for letting me know that you prefer emails – I’ll stick to that for now!
